It is formulated for clinical and veterinary use where anticholinergic therapy is indicated, including pre-anesthetic management, control of certain bradycardic responses, treatment of specific toxicological emergencies, and relief of visceral smooth muscle spasm.

The formulation may be used as a pre-anesthetic antisialagogue to reduce excessive salivary and respiratory secretions and may help manage clinically significant vagally mediated bradycardia when indicated. Atropine is also an important antidotal agent in organophosphate and carbamate poisoning, where it is administered according to established emergency protocols. Its antimuscarinic activity may additionally provide relief from certain visceral smooth muscle spasms.

Active Ingredient Function:
